(1/2) The first pair of shoes I ever sold on eBay. 2001. No idea what they’re actually called, but I won this pair (and the next couple of pairs I’ll be posting) in an online promotional trivia contest for a website I believe was called ‘hoop dreams’ or ‘hoops house’s or some such nonsense. Every hour they’d post a series of basketball related questions and if you were the first one to submit the correct answers, they’d send you a pair of shoes in your size for free. I was in college and broke and a wannabe sneakerhead so I set my alarm several times a day to win as many pairs as possible. I know I correctly answered and submitted at least 15 entries (which they told me I’d won) but they only sent me 2-3 free pairs of shoes. The site (and subsequent hype) was gone in less than 3 months.
