2/ The guy who bought the eggplant Flightposites – (cont’d from the last post) had a bit of an issue. For whatever reason, the shipment got delayed and I had a momentary panic attack that I was out $400. Over the course of a week or two we were in constant contact. It all worked itself out, though.
I hadn’t come across too many Flightposites or even Foamposites around that time so I wasn’t selling to anyone in Mongolia. I kind of let the idea go. I had no idea why there were 4 different buyers from Mongolia buying super expensive shoes from me, but I didn’t really care. I figured it was a fluke. Hang around eBay long enough and leave yourself open to it and you’ll come across plenty of flukes.
A year or so later, I found a pair of Air Signature Players. The black pair (pair shown on the post is obviously the blue pair). They were sitting on the shelf and looked like they had been sitting there a while – they had a price tag of $18 and they were my size. I thought it was a pretty cool looking shoe…different…I figured I’d clean them up and wear them. (I do that with A LOT of shoes I come across).
I cleaned them up but didn’t wear them. Within a couple of months, they made their way to eBay and I posted them for another high price.
Within 30 minutes of listing – they sold for $150. To a guy with a strangely foreign name who was located in Seattle. It wasn’t a previous buyer, but his name looked very…Mongolian. I quickly sent him a message – ‘you wouldn’t happen to be from Mongolia, would you?’
He responded in broken English something like…‘I am! How did you know?’
