The first time these came out as ‘Highs’ – I was too young to really appreciate them. I totally did not understand the colorway (still kinda don’t – if you know why these are green and brown I’d really love to know), and wasn’t really all that much into my greens or browns. The album cover art *kinda* made sense to me, but how anyone could call them ‘de la dunks’ really kinda baffled me. ⁣

That being said, they came out in like 2005…and I was deep in my New York grind. I was definitely familiar with De La Soul, but hadn’t spent much time listening to them or making myself familiar with their music. At the time my favorite DLS song was ‘Baby Phat’ (mostly because of the video). So…after the dunks came out I had to refresh my knowledge. I downloaded all of their albums (google ‘De La Soul’ back catalog for a sad story) and listening on my iPod on my daily commute. ⁣

These dropped again a few years ago – through Nike – and I bought two pairs. For whatever reason I sold both pairs at retail and kind of regretted it ever since. I found some dude on my local facebook group getting rid of a pair for a pretty reasonable amount so I reached out and have them back in my possession. ⁣

As you all know, Dunks are back. Dunk SBs are definitely back. And this summer you better believe the price on all those Dunks is gonna climb. If you’ve got a grail you’re looking for in the Dunk space I’d say now is probably the best time to seek it out. ⁣
