(2/3) This McDowell’s stuff and this colorway had me dying. If you haven’t seen the movie – what are you wasting time on Instagram for? Go and watch ‘Coming to America’ right now. The McDowell’s thing is just so perfect. Basically, Eddie Murphy gets a job as a janitor at this fast food joint out in Queens called ‘McDowells’ and it’s more or less a McDonalds bootleg – ‘instead of the Big Mac, we have the Big Mick’. ⁣

When I lived in Brooklyn, there used to be this place at the end of the main sneaker strip – Fulton Street and Flatbush – called ‘Mr. Fulton’…it’s probably still there. Every time I saw it it just reminded me of McDowells. Not to say they were a bootleg McDonalds or anything, but the sign was very similar and it just looked too much for it NOT to be a coincidence. Every time I watch the movie, I think of Mr. Fulton and every time I’m in Brooklyn driving by Mr. Fulton I’m thinking of the movie. ⁣ ⁣
Now this colorway – I recognized it from a mile away. I saw that gross colorscheme and my mind immediately went to the movie. And the scene where #eddiemurphy is ‘mopping’ the floor. And the scene where he takes out a deranged Samuel L. Jackson who is trying to rob the place.⁣
