My students are always asking me if I got last weekends release. No, and I have like zero interest in almost every single *new* release. I’ve wasted enough empty hours behind a computer just *hoping* to spend my hard-earned money on another sneaker I’ll get to wear once a year. It completely lost its appeal to me roughly 5 years ago. The only #snkrsapp releases I mess with are those that no one else really gives a damn about: 1996 Air Max II, Air Max Plus III, etc. Just completely obscure retros. That’s what I’m into. ⁣

That being said – I still come across 20+ pairs of shoes a week on a pretty regular basis – some are for grading, some are on consignment, some are for selling, a couple are for me to wear. Here’s the first highlight from last week: ⁣

After seeing these at @ten11.oak last week in person I went searching online for a pair I would wear. If you don’t know what they are – they’re Nike Dunk Low SB Pushead 2 (@hyperstoic ). Pushead is artist behind a lot of Metallica’s album art in the 80s/90s. I also remember seeing pictures of his work in early @thrashermag from when I was a kid…I can’t say I’m all that tied to this pair vs. the first pair a black and pinkish/red version, but I remember seeing the first pair in my size on sale at a San Diego skate shop in PB back in like 2005 or so. Prices on the first version are pretty dramatic. Also, I just have a real affinity to black and brown on a shoe. Anyways – deals are to be had out there. Didn’t get what you want? Move on or search for something else!
