Came across this article the other day…a @hypebeast article detailing the upcoming @ovo@champagnepapi x @jumpman23 Jordan IV ‘Splatter’ … in the first line it says “Although not much is known about the colorway, the Canadian rapper’s take on the classic Jordan Brand model is expected to release sometime next year.”⁣⁣

If you ask your regular Drake fan, I’m sure they’d agree – ‘not much is known about the colorway’. But if you ask your regular Niketalk afficianado OR Jordan collector OR Sneakerhead (I don’t like that term), they might say they’ve seen ‘em before. I know I’ve seen a sample splatter IV bouncing around the forums for a good 10+ years. I know I’ve seen multiple pics of this pair over the years and can say I really don’t give a damn about this shoe one way or the other…I just think it’s funny that Drake is getting credit for it.⁣⁣

Obviously, there are some minor differences – most notably the use of Suede vs. Nubuck and the medial pod on the OG has ‘splatter’ while this one is just black. I also like the footbed ‘surprise’ that we’ve got coming with the Drake version, but other than that…looks like another story being re-written.⁣⁣
