Swipe to see some HIGHlights šŸ˜‚ Iā€™m not really big on getting high or altered mind states (on a regular basis), but the first time I ever got high was the first night I sat down and watched a full Laker (Kobe) game from tipoff to buzzer. I had just returned home from class and was looking for something to get into. I was kinda burnt out on classes and decided to finally sit down with my roommates and just chill for a change. I sat down in the living room, turned on the Dreamcast to play some NBA2K and before I knew it a blunt was being passed around and found its way to my hands. I paused the game and looked around the room – they were all looking at me – I muttered a ā€˜well, how do I do this?ā€™ ā£

I remember I took that first pull, I coughed my lungs out, and within a couple of minutes the Dreamcast was off and we flipped over to watch the Lakers play the Warriors. I was off on a journey…just transfixed on the game in a way I had never really been before. My whole body was tingling and I felt like I was watching myself watch Kobe and Antawn go at it. It really was spectacular – these guys were just trading bucket after bucket and it felt like it lasted forever. Even a simple google search will tell you that that night – December 6, 2000 – Kobe went toe-to-toe with Antawn Jamison and both players scored 51 points each. Thereā€™s all kinds of interesting statistics about that night – Jamisonā€™s second 50+ point game in as many nights, Kobeā€™s first 50+ point game, etc. – but I was so high I felt like I was in an alternate universe. I had trouble believing it was all real. I had to check the newspaper the next morning to ensure that I wasnā€™t. ā£

Looking up the score now – I can see that the Warriors actually won that night – but Iā€™ll never forget ā€˜51 and 51ā€™…I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen duel performances like that…and all for a regular season (largely meaningless) game. ā£
