So…back to ‘the logo’. The ‘NYC’ pair is the pair that made me think about even creating the box…I told this story about the @john_c_jay NYC Block logo a few posts ago…so it’s great for me to see them in the actual box. ⁣

it’s funny because…I don’t think AF1 Mid’s were really ever a thing. Lows were always a big deal…and…uptowns (highs) were another thing…but I always felt like the masses didn’t give a damn about mids. I was watching @smokedza on @fullsizerunshow the other day and he was saying the same thing. Mids just weren’t it. I was drawn to the mids because I didn’t even know that there were 3 different cuts – I don’t think I even knew there was a difference between Highs and Mids…thinking back I don’t think I ever even saw a pair of Air Force 1’s in Northern California until I was like 22 years old (2002). ⁣

And I want to say that Rasheed Wallace is the only reason I even started noticing Air Force ones because he was a beast and like the only baller wearing old ass shoes on the court at that time. Day in and Day out, that’s what he wore and he was tearing it up. Everyone else was wearing the latest tech and Sheed was wearing tech from 1982. It was crazy. So…AF1’s in California…they just didn’t exist. I distinctly remember seeing the 20th anniversary AF1’s at Copelands sports and that was it…like I don’t think I ever even saw them in person before that release. ⁣When I first moved to New York, I was on a mission to find me some Air Forces.
