(2/12) Now, it’s a couple of months later in 2013, and my phone dings and its an eBay alert. It’s a message from eBay telling me that I’ve got a message from another member. I open it up and I get the strangest message I’ve ever received on ebay: “Hey man, I love these I haven’t owned them in like 15 years. Can I call you?”⁣

I thought it was odd but responded with my number anyway. What’s the worst that could happen? About 45 minutes later I get a call from 702 number – Las Vegas. I answer it and dude starts talking…I don’t know how or why but over the next hour or so, we talk about everything from shoes and clothing and sports and music and New York to hopes and dreams and how difficult it is to have a successful business on eBay. ⁣

At one point, this guy tells me – ‘yea currently I work at the AT&T store, but my dream is to open a store in Las Vegas that would be like a community center. Shoes and sandwiches, tattoos and haircuts and video games and luxury brands.’ Now at this point, I’m used to places like Flight Club and Foot Locker and Alife, so my initial thought when he says this to me: “this dude is out of his mind.” ⁣

We agree to stay in touch and talk progress on our sneaker dreams…he agrees to buy the flightposites for $310 and as I’m about to hang up the phone before I say ‘oh, what’s your name? Let’s swap social media info’ – He responds with ‘yeah I’m Jaysse Lopez. You can find me as Puerto Rock on Facebook, but my name is Jaysse. It’s spelled J-A-Y-S-S-E.’⁣
