(2/2) So the day after I bought the Fake IV’s on eBay, I told my sneaker buddies @danposite (R.I.P.) (and I’m pretty sure @solesupreme was there but I could be wrong) and we kinda laughed about it…whatever. $34 bucks I could get one or two good wears out of them… Nothing major. At least I’d get to wear a pair before I were to die. …

A few days later, I received a shipment. It was kind of curious as to what it was because I made the assumption the fakes were being sent from China…but…it was a shoe box. And a return address from somewhere in Tennessee. I opened it…and…it had a silver Jordan shoe box. And it had a retro card. Hmmm. …

Opening the package, I was curious to see how bad a pair of fakes could really be. I hadn’t really seen or inspected any pairs in real life, so I was definitely uneducated on the topic. I opened the box and…they really didn’t look that bad. They actually looked pretty good. I was surprised. And happy. They fit!

The next time I saw @danposite, I was wearing the IVs. We were on one of our sneaker adventures that day and somehow ended up at the Staten Island Ferry chillin just enjoying the day. We were sitting on the steps and I took a shoe off and handed it to Danny. I said ‘they look pretty good, huh?’ And Dan said to me ‘J, I think these are real.’ … After a bit of deliberation and inspecting some other pairs from the same time period, we came to the conclusion they were indeed authentic. I purchased a pair of authentic 1999 Jordan IVs for $34 from a dude who posted a pic of a fake pair on eBay.
… Not the biggest deal in the world, but it was a nice little surprise at the time. I’ve had a lot of luck in my sneaker world so I’m not really bothered when I take all these Ls from the #snkrsapp 😂
