(2/3) I didn’t think much of it for the first couple of hours…I figured I’d do some research when we got home, but on the drive I started thinking a bit more about them. …

I was kinda pissed off that I had been taken for a pair of fakes. Like…how or why in the hell would a thousand dollar pair of shoes find itself in a consignment/used/second hand store for a mere $26.50. So…I brought it up to my girlfriend and she said ‘you never know…maybe some guy pissed off his girlfriend and she sold them to crossroads’. She then went on to say – ‘if they’re real, though, you have to take me to Paris.’ …
I thought about it…deliberated…inspected the shoes…thought about it some more…deliberated some more…inspected some more…and finally decided to post them on NikeTalk, Boxden, and Sole Collector forums to see what the consensus was. …
It was funny…because 95% of the replies were ‘these are authentic…where do you get them?’ or ‘wow incredible pickup’ After some replies on each post I decided to reveal my ‘source’ and immediately had people saying they were fake. Like ‘that couldn’t have happened’.

People dismiss the shoe when they hear the story…and that’s why I decided to post the shoe before the story. Kinda funny to watch people eat their words when it happens…
