This comment isn’t all that helpful, but the comment he left on my page was helpful (swipe to see it). I was actually hoping for more comments like this, because I think it’s important to have a conversation about what’s going on here. …
If you re-read the story, I admitted – I don’t know all that much about this pair. I also didn’t ‘call anyone out’. I stated the facts of a story, gave my opinion, and asked the question. That’s much different than staking a claim and calling someone out. I’m not that stupid.

Since starting ‘The Sneaker Savant’ a few years ago, I’ve had the pleasure of grading (NOT authenticating) probably about 30-40 pairs of super rare/exclusive Nike or Jordan samples, promos or player exclusives. That’s it. That’s the breadth of my knowledge of promos and player exclusives. Every time I come across a pair, I hit up the guys I know for more information – @solesupreme, @joerdan23tn_kooth , @ogtheshoegame , @phase2 , @pevault , @_babydill_ , @dependablejay . Most of the time, I’d rather not bother anyone because I know those guys live busy lives and probably get all kinds of crap DMs. I’ve never come across @samplestash23 , but after digging into his photos and his followers – I’m gonna add him to my list of ppl to contact when I come across stuff like this.

That being said – I wrote out my process for determining what me and my team determined – that we BELIEVE this pair to be fake. And I laid out each of the reasons in these posts. These are enough for me to raise a red flag…if that’s not enough for you – that’s fine. I understand. They’re minor reasons. The collectors I named above are the real experts. With samples and PEs – I know what the majority of them look like and I know what to look for, but for the most part I ask my buddies for help and they’re more than willing to comply. I passed these photos and the story to several of my colleagues and we all came to the same conclusion. BUT – Not a single one of us have ever seen this pair in person.

Maybe @samplestash23 is right. Maybe @thesneakersavant is right.

But can we talk about the quality? The quality on these – real or fake – leaves something to be desired.
