Coming from the mountains of California, I always rooted for the @warriors From afar. The first jersey I ever owned (that I found at a thrift store) was a size too small Tim Hardaway jersey that I wore all the time at home. As a kid, we were never in Oakland for any reason whatsoever, but I followed the ups and downs of the @warriors for years.

I remember the first time I went to the Oakland Coliseum it wasn’t even for a @warriors game…I want to say it was in 2001 or so… a few college friends and I had nosebleeds to watch the Rookie All Star game on All Star Saturday. It was the best tickets to the only event we could get and we were excited as all hell.
There’s three distinct memories I have of that day:
1. Jason Williams (@jasonwilliams55 ) “elbow pass” (Google it if you don’t know what that means)

2. Vince Carter practicing his dunks for the ‘arm in the rim’ before the actual competition.

3. My buddy caught a T-shirt from the cannon even though we were in the upper levels.

In 2003, I moved to New York. I still hadn’t ever attended a @warriors game in Oakland, but I was finally making some money so I started going to @nyknicks and (then New Jersey) @brooklynnets x @warriors games and they were a sad affair.

Another distinct memory I have is going to a @brooklynnets x @warriors game (when they were both terrible) with @veenomous in the middle of winter and we walked all the way down next to the floor seats because virtually no one was there.

Anyways, it sucks to go out like we did last night but that’s ‘the breaks of the game’. As I’ve been living in Oakland for the past five years, I’d say moving the team to San Francisco is definitely going to change things, but I’ll always root for the Warriors no matter where they end up (unless they end up in Nebraska or something 😂)
