(1) So. I posted this pair of Vans X The Shoe Surgeon x Life SF shoes close to three years ago. It was something I came upon at a local thrift store and paid a whopping $18 + tax. I had never even heard of The Shoe Surgeon or Life SF and thought it was just a unique pair of shoes in my size. The shoes were hard as rocks – not really wearable. So I started doing a bit of research and found that The Shoe Surgeon had a nice little following and he was kind of a big deal. I posted a pic of them on IG shortly after I found the shoes, asking if he remembered them and it looks like he didn’t see that I tagged him in the post, but there was no response. No mind. I know he’s a busy dude. I then posted them on Reddit and some guy said he knew @theshoesurgeon and would ask him for me. Apparently, according to this random dude, @theshoesurgeon confirmed they were legit and from 2008. I subsequently listed the shoes on eBay…I didn’t get much interest but some dude reached out to me and said ‘bro these are probably worth $5,000 DO NOT SELL THEM FOR ANY LESS THAN THAT.’ So I pulled the auction and put the shoes away until I could figure out something better to do with them…to be continued…
