You guys remember these and the story behind them? I was living in New York at the time and thought this was one of the cooler ‘sneaker releases’ – “Inspired by the colorful Manhattan Street that covers eight city blocks and designed by the street apparel company Orchard Street, these 40 customized pairs of Nike Dunk Hi shoes were released for free. Instead of putting them on store shelves, the people at Orchard St. tied each pair together by the laces and went around Manhattan tossing them over lampposts. Obtaining a pair of these rare Dunks meant seeking them out and climbing the posts to get them. The shoes were made of red and yellow leather uppers with black a Nike Swoosh, black laces, and a white midsole.” I did spend a few days looking for some but never actually saw a pair in the wild. Any of you out there know someone lucky enough to snag a pair?
