I know some of y’all are saying ‘who cares’ about the glue stains…and I somewhat agree. I’m a shoe wearer. I buy shoes for cheap and I rock them with little regard as to how they end up. Once I’m tired of a pair, I either give them away or sell them.
That being said – if I were a collector of expensive shoes…someone who bought shoes to display, catalogue, stock, store, or resell at a later date, I would spend a great deal of time trying to find the best pairs of the bunch. When shoes get old, the glue dries out and oftentimes turns yellow. A lot of times, with old shoes, you’re left with big sloppy stains all over the midsole and the upper and it’s pretty much impossible (or at least extremely difficult) to clean up.
So I’m a little confused when I see pairs of Jordan 4s going for $10k+ with these big sloppy glue stains around the seams. I mean…we are talking about $10k here. For a pair of shoes. Made pretty carelessly. Or effortlessly. A pair of shoes that is going to degrade at a faster (or at least more visible) rate than a better constructed pair. If you’d pay $10k for this pair of 4s – would you pay $10.5k for a pair without glue stains? What about $11k?
I’ve looked at about 20 pairs. Have any of y’all seen any pairs without the glue stains? If so please DM them to me.
